Restart

Hello and welcome to my blog.  I had tried blogging a few years back, but life got in the way.  So, I am going to give it another try.  For those who followed me before, thank you! For those of you who have chosen to follow me – thank you for joining.  It has been since summer of 2010 since I have written a blog; I am really looking forward to sharing my thoughts and life with you.
It is a new year, a chance to start over.  This is the time of year we promise ourselves we are going to start a new hobby, engage in a better lifestyle, or lose those annoying extra 15 pounds we have been carrying around.  The thought of a having do-over is exhilarating and freeing.  Everyone wants a chance to fix past mistakes, put the past behind us, to forgive others – or ourselves, and strive towards being the best version of ourselves we can be. Equally as exciting is the thought of embarking on new adventures, trying new things, and setting new goals.
This year I plan to make some changes along with the rest of society.  God willing, I will eradicate negative thought patterns from my psyche, lose another 15 to 20 pounds, learn to play the piano, and spend more time relaxing. Looking at my list, I think what I am really hoping to achieve is a deeper level of self-control and discipline.  This has not always been a strong suit for me.  It will take all my strength and some help from God to achieve my goals!  Are there any goals you have set for yourself this New Year?  I hope we can encourage each other not to give up!

  1. I am feeling a twinge of encouragement to begin anew... A new what is a question yet to be answered but I even feel on the verge of that as well :) Hugs and love in your brave pursuit. I'm in!

  2. Hi Linda....thanks for guiding me to your blog. We have been friends since third grade and I have always admired you. My goals for this year are a bit simpler than I have made in other years....here they are:
    1. Cook at home 5 days a week. I know that sounds lame....but spending time with the family around the table is priceless. My two youngest are the only ones still living at home....and they will be gone before I know it.
    2. I will spend one hour per week on Family History. I want to write "my story"...complete with memories, examples, and people who I came from.
    3. Eat one less helping. Doesn't sound like much...but I am way overweight and diets don't last long for me. I am choosing to not have seconds.....which is difficult....but I can do all things through God.

That's about it. Just so ya know....I have two red heads too. If ya ever want to check out my blog....go to www.medleyofmathisons.blogspot.com
